Bodies of stories: writing practice

22 September 2026
18h30 - 21h00

We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, from September to June.
You’re welcome to join at any point during the year, and your first session is free.

New and experienced writers welcome, in any genre (songwriting, screenwriting, slam, poetry, fiction, essays, genre-bending spurts, journaling…), and at any level of English.

Here’s how each session unfolds:

  • Grab a drink or a bite (this gives us access to the space)
  • We do a round of check-ins, around a question of the day
  • Receive the prompt (or follow your heart), then an hour of writing
  • We each read aloud for 2 minutes (optional, encouraged).

Bring a notebook or laptop, whichever you write in.

We’re in the Blue Room at the back of the Sister Brussels Café, Rue Chair et Pain 3, 1000 Brussels.
Membership is €100 for the semester (Sep-Jan / Feb-June), or €150 for the year.

Limited spots—Please register for each event you plan to attend. If plans change, make sure to change your RSVP to allow others to join.

Sessions are hosted by Brune Smith, a writer and storyteller who’s helped people write books, ran storytelling events during her years in Canada, and facilitated over 100 writing sessions for Corporeal Writing, a Portland-based writing center.
