Association de musiciens, Les Lundis d’Hortense promeut le jazz belge depuis plus de 40 ans. À l’image de cette musique, l’association encourage la rencontre et la découverte du jazz dans toute sa diversité à Bruxelles.
Tous les 2èmes et 4èmes jeudis du mois, Les Lundis d’Hortense organise La Jam d’Hortense au The Brussels Sister Café.
Points de rencontres festives, les jam sessions rassemblent mélomanes, instrumentistes chevronnés et curieux en tous genres. Ces sessions incontournables dans l’histoire du jazz permettent aux musiciens de partager, créer et improviser autour du répertoire des standards. À Bruxelles, une des villes pionnières en Europe en matière de jazz, cette pratique conviviale et nocturne est vivace depuis toujours… c’est le moment d’y prendre part !
Apportez-vos instruments, et si vous n’êtes pas musicien, ouvrez grand vos oreilles et laissez-vous surprendre par les mille et une facettes d’une musique qui ne cesse de se réinventer !
Comment ça se déroule ?
Venez avec votre instrument et laissez-vous guider ! Sur place, un piano, une batterie, ampli basse et guitare et une amplification pour la voix.

Les Lundis d’Hortense, een muziekvereniging, promoot al meer dan 40 jaar de Belgische jazz. De vereniging zet in op de ontdekking van de jazz in al zijn diversiteit.
Les Lundis d’Hortense vindt elke 2e en 4e donderdag van de maand plaats in het The Brussels Sister Café.
De jam sessies zijn een feestelijke ontmoetingsplek en brengen muziekliefhebbers, ervaren muzikanten en het publiek op zoek naar nieuwe ontdekkingen samen. Deze sessies vinden hun oorsprong in een historische jazzpraktijk en geven aan de muzikanten de mogelijkheid om te delen, te creëeren en te improviseren rond een repertoire van jazzstandards. In Brussel, een pionier in Europa op vlak van jazz, is deze feestelijke bedoening ‘s nachts sinds altijd al populair. Dit is het moment om eraan deel te nemen!
Breng uw instrumenten mee en als u geen muziek speelt kom dan luisteren en de ontelbare gezichten van jazz ontdekken!
Hoe gaat het in z’n werk?
Breng uw instrument mee en laat u meevoeren! Ter plaatse vindt u een piano, een drumstel, een bas- en gitaarversterker en een zanginstallatie.

Since the birth of jazz, jam sessions have brought together music lovers, skilled improvisers and neophytes steered by sheer curiosity. These sessions, which allow musicians to share, create and improvise around the vast repertoire of jazz standards, are an essential keystone of the history of jazz. As one of the pioneering cities of jazz in Europe, Brussels has always been the home of a lively tradition of nocturnal and festive jam sessions… It’s time to be part of it! Bring your instrument, and if you’re not a musician, open your ears and be ready to discover the many facets of a musical style that never stops reinventing itself!

Bring your own instrument and let yourself be guided! On site, a piano, drums, bass and guitar amp and voice amplification.
